Thu, Aug. 7th, 2008, 01:14 pm Game roundup!

I must've purged at least 100 games from my NES/SNES collection this morning. Most were sports games, and just various other games that just held no interest for me. I'm just keeping the bare essentials for my college collection. I also went through my portable games. I actually didn't realize I had about 12 games for the PSP. So, I'll list those out. Jeanne D'Arc (RPG; Tactical Strategy) Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- (RPG; Mission-Based) Patapon (Side Scroller; Rhythm Combat) Harvest Moon: Boy & Girl (RPG; Farming Simulator) Riviera: The Promised Land (RPG; Chapter-Based) Maverick Hunter X (Side Scroller; Action Platforming) PoPoLoCrois (RPG; Turn-Based) Death Jr. II: Root of Evil (Platformer) MegaMan: Powered Up (Side Scroller; Action Platforming( Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (2-D Fighter) Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology (RPG; Mission-Based) Brave Story: New Traveler (RPG; Turn-Based) Good mix, overall. A fair bit of RPGs, but there are some good non-RPGs in there. I've only finished... two of the games? No, three of them. It's nice actually finishing games. I also have about... 24 DS games? Well, might as well list them out, too. I'll figure it out then. Electroplankton Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations (Japanese; Dual-Language) Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (Japanese) Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (Japanese) Final Fantasy IV MegaMan ZX Advent Jump Super Stars (Japanese) Jump Ultimate Stars (Japanese) Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 Tetris DS Power Rangers: Super Legends Pokemon Pearl Summon Night: Twin Age Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day Nodame Cantabile (Japanese) Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Elite Beat Agents Naruto: Saikyo Ninja Daikeshuu 4 (Japanese) ASH: Archaic Sealed Heat (Japanese) Guitar Hero: On Tour Pokemon Diamond (Japanese) R4 Flash Cart
That... should be it. I'm not putting what types of games they are, I'm just acknowledging which ones are Japanese copies. I have... only 9 Japanese games? That's a bit less than I thought I had. ...Might as well list the Gameboy games, as well! Pokemon FireRed Pokemon LeafGreen Pokemon Ruby Mother 1+2 Mother 3 Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Dragonball: Advanced Adventure MegaMan & Bass Castlevania: Circle of the Moon Capcom Classic: Mini Mix Nintendo MP3 Player Action Replay for GBA Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons GBA Movie Player
Still building that collection up. I really want to get Oracle of Ages again, that game was fun. I think we might have Tetris around here, I should find that... I'm not listing any more games out. I have some for the Playstation and Wii and Virtual Console and all that, but eh... that's another post entirely.
Tue, Aug. 5th, 2008, 08:31 am Fun day.

The beach was fun. It's been awhile since I swam in the ocean. Didn't get battered against the razor sharp rocks this time, interestingly enough. Although, I didn't really bodysurf at all, so that probably has something to do with it. I ended up trading those 360 games in that my cousin gave me. I first bought Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword with the money I got from them, but I decided to take that game back and bought Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness instead. Ninja Gaiden is supposed to be fun, however, it is very heavy on the stylus use and could possibly break my screen again, which I don't want to deal with right when I'm about to go to college and all. But I've only played the first five minutes of Pokemon so far.
Mon, Jul. 28th, 2008, 03:40 pm Huh...?

She's not in the office until the 5th of August? Okay... but I really need to send off that deposit... I just hope this doesn't mess with my chances of getting into the classes... Yeah, I'm going to college. Barring any unfortunate mishaps in the meantime, it's guaranteed. Hopefully nothing happens. Only 5 weeks left until I actually have to move into the dorm. In the meantime, my Dad wants me to try to sell a bunch of stuff and my Mom wants me to condense all my stuff in our shed and in my room into as little boxes as possible. So, I probably won't get to play as many video games until I move in, but that's fine. Hopefully I will have time to actually PLAY these new games I got once I'm there, and that college classes don't give me 40 hours of homework a week. I bought a 2,000 Wii Points card and Final Fantasy IV for the Nintendo DS. With the Wii Points, I bought Super Mario World on the Virtual Console (because I see no reason NOT to have that game available whenever I want to play it :3). I have some points leftover now, though, since Nintendo decided not to release the new Strong Bad game this week, either. When are they going to release that game? I didn't get a chance to play a lot of FF4 last night, but that's okay, this isn't something I can play until I have a lot of time to invest into it. Nice opening CG scene, though. I received my super-awesome Kamen Rider Den-O Complete CD Box in the mail today! So awesome... there's about... 119 tracks in all? Sweet. And it comes with that DVD disc containing the PV for "Climax Jump DEN-LINER Form". Seems kind of a waste to only put a single movie file on a disc that has a personalized jacket, jewel case, and CD artwork, but if that's what they wanna do, I guess it's fine with me. It's a cool PV, reguardless. Need to get the TV-Nihon subs for it, now...
Sat, Jul. 26th, 2008, 01:38 pm "Ride the Wave of Time"
Kabuto is getting pretty good. The director's cut of the movie was certainly epic, that's for sure. Hopefully the end of the series will be equally as awesome. It seems like I probably will end up going to Simpson University instead of the community college in Bakersfield. That's provided that they actually give me my loan and it covers the rest of what I owe. I had to take out a pretty hefty one ($9,500), but my Dad said that they monthly rate at which I have to pay it back is quite low, so I should be able to handle it after I finish college and get a job. I'm surprised at how low the monthly payments are so low, like at $25 to $30 or so. All I'd have to do is not buy as many video games every month and it'd be simple to pay it back (and considering that I'll have an actual full-time job, buying less video games won't be a problem). Hopefully this covers the cost of the books and room + board, or else I'll have to shell out several more hundreds of dollars... I'm quite addicted to Geometry Wars Galaxies lately. I only bought it for $15 at K-Mart for the Wii, and it's a solid game. I'm finally getting the hang of it, and stuff like clocking up my multiplier isn't as difficult as it was when I started. Neat stuff. I'm having difficulty actually wanting to start playing Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I just know it's gonna be an epic game that will require so much time to play, and I'm actually not looking forward to playing it for hours on end (which is going to be a required part of playing). Hopefully that mindset will change. I put so many N64 games on eBay the other day. Like, seriously, about 31 or 32 in a row. Hopefully they'll all sell, so I can have some cash in my pocket again. Need to buy the "Individual-System" CD single, as well as the "Go-onger 2nd Lap" single. And the "SuperNova" single whenever that comes out. And the "Super Survivor" CD, unless I win that in the contest. That'd be really nice.

Mon, Jun. 23rd, 2008, 01:31 pm "We're not gonna take it!"

Seriously, ever since I got money for graduation, I've been buying games like crazy. Since we had to go to Bakersfield on Saturday, I took the opportunity to bring my copy of Pearl down to GameStop and I proceeded to receive my event Pokemon, Deoxys. He's a legendary Pokemon, I believe, and he was level 50, which is pretty good. It's not like I really need him or anything, but I really wanted to get a Pokemon from an officially sponsored Nintendo event. They are having the event again this coming weekend, actually, so it'll be interesting to see if anybody attends. Actually, I don't even know if they'll be able to have it, considering how so many of the devices that give the Wi-Fi signal so you can receive the Pokemon ended up breaking or shorting out or something. I'm just glad I received mine as soon as possible. I also about PoPoLoCrois for the PSP at the other GameStop in that same mall. I haven't had a chance to really play it yet, but it looks really, really nice. The graphics seem to be hand drawn, and they just look gorgeous for an RPG. And it was only $10. :P We ended up going to K-Mart after Church yesterday, and when we were there, I found out that yesterday was the release date for Guitar Hero: On Tour for the DS. Now, I'm not really a Guitar Hero fan at all, and I've only played the console versions two or three times (and even then, I only played one song), so I didn't really know if I wanted to buy this one or not. Luckily, since my Dad owes me some money, he paid for a part of it so I didn't have to pay the full price of $50. And I'm glad I got it, too, because it is really enjoyable. I'm only playing through the Career Mode since I don't have any way of doing multiplayer with anybody, but it's not bad. I'm at the... fourth tier, I believe? On Easy Mode, obviously. It's not that difficult of a game on Easy, considering how skilled I've become on music/rhythm games. It gave me a bit of a run for my money when I practiced on Medium, though. I'd definitely suggest getting it if you have a DS, since it's such a novelty with that guitar grip you attach to it. It's actually making me interested in playing some of the console versions, just to see if my skill on the DS version can be carried over. I'm such a gamer. :3
Fri, Jun. 20th, 2008, 11:51 pm "Each meal only comes once in a lifetime... so make each one important."

I made a list of video games that I want to pick up in the near future. Most were older games that were released awhile ago, so I guess that means that I can buy some of them for the discounted price of used games. Hopefully that's the case. I wanna try some visual novel simulations with Ar Tonelico really badly. And some objectioning with Apollo Justice. And some vampire hunting with Castlevania. This is really getting me testy. These colleges need all this paperwork and information, and for what? Ugh, I just don't know... I just want to get all of this nonsense done and over with, is that too much to ask? That these colleges just process the information properly? Some of it is our fault, I know, but we've done what we can. I really put a lot into cleaning this deathtrap of a room we sleep in. I've pretty much gutted about 70% of it, and I'm probably going to finish up a good bit more by tomorrow. But we had to spray for ants today, though, so I can't sleep in there. I was THIS close to finally starting a file on Odin Sphere earlier today, but I had to start my cleaning, apparently. I doubt I'll be able to do it tomorrow, either. When am I going to be able to start playing this game? I bought it last week, and I just today took it out of its packaging. NeoGeo Battle Coliseum isn't doing any better, but at least it actually found its way into the actual PS2! (my test run of it wasn't that fun though, unfortunately) I just decided to set aside the ethics of doing such and proceeded to AR the three Johto starters into my game. Because, you see, if I want to collect all of them, I have to purchase a $35 copy of Emerald and completely beat the game THREE times. I am not going to do that just to obtain three Pokemon. But I'm not going to use any of these Pokemon to battle with, so no worries. I just want to collect them so I can complete my Pokedex and train them to what I believe is their maximum, that's all. Hey, I might even just put some legit Kanto starters up on the GTS and trade them for the Johto starters instead, just so I can say I have legit ones (seeing as how you can't actually trade for a specific Pokemon until you have an entry for them in the Pokedex; now that I do, I can get legit ones from some other people and just stash these ones in the box or the ranch). C'mon, that's not cheating, is it? And it's not like I'm going to battle somebody anytime soon. I have no interest in that, really. Speaking of the GTS, I put a Squirtle online last night, and I woke up with a brand new Piplup! Thank you to whoever traded me that starter. It's nice because I don't have to restart my copy of Diamond just to get the starters, now. Next up, I'll put a Charmander on and hopefully get a Chimchar (or whatever the monkey's name is) in the near future, thus securing me all three starter Pokemon. :3 I listened to a bunch of Al Mohler's radio broadcasts while cleaning the room today. That man is certainly a smart man, and is someone I'd like to be like. His no-nonsense attitude on the radio is certainly a far-cry from what I'm used to, but because of that, he is more serious about what he's talking about, and that helps me learn more than I normally would. Not that I'm bagging on comedy-driven shows, but it's nice to hear someone just laying it all out there and not backing down from critics every once in a while. I've also been listening to Dennis Prager lately, and I have to admit, he's also a smart guy. Very conservative, very much in-line with my views, and very Jewish. I like it when Jews actually believe in faith what they claim to be in ethnicity and heritage. So many Jews today are Jewish in heritage only, and don't believe a word of the Torah. So much so that it's just gotta be devastatingly sad for those Rabbis in the Temples. This man knows his stuff, though, and isn't afraid of being insulted by those on the far-left. I heard a story on his program earlier today, actually. I'll link to it next time and give my thoughts on it, but only as long as I remember to do so.
Thu, Jun. 19th, 2008, 02:15 pm Gotta catch 'em all.

I just bought My Pokemon Ranch on the Wii Shop Channel a couple of hours ago. It doesn't really have a story or anything, you just have to build up a ranch with a bunch of Pokemon. And that's all. But it's cute, so it's fine. If I keep building up the ranch, the rancher Hayley will give me hints on where to find Pokemon I need to fill up my Pokedex, as well as giving me bonus Pokemon to transfer to my game. And hey, this means I don't have to AR a Mew into my game, since you can obtain one legitimately if you deposit 999 Pokemon into the Ranch, so it's all good. This is basically so I can capture as many Pokemon as possible without cheating or anything. When I finally get to the point where I just can't catch anymore Pokemon (because they came from an event or are exclusive or special in some way), then I'll bust out the AR and do what I need to do. I don't know if I'll ever fill up the Pokedex, considering how difficult it is to get some of these creatures. I mean, just to get all of the Johto Starters, you have to play through Emerald three separate times, and they only appear after you filled up the Hoenn Pokedex! That's just... insane. o_o But then again, there's always the GTS, but I have to actually see the Pokemon before I can trade for them. I guess this is where the friend code trading system comes in handy, since you can trade anything and everything without any problems, as far as I know.
Tue, Jun. 17th, 2008, 05:40 pm College Student = Chuunin Rank.

I think we're finally starting to get all this college information settled down, and I might be able to figure out which one I want to choose. I'm leaning more towards Simpson in Redding, but those denominations that are predominantly in the North seem more charismatic than what I prefer. I'd prefer a denomination that does not focus on the gifts of prophecy/tongues/healing/social justice/etc., and focuses more on the fundamentals and in-depth theological issues. I purchased a new MP3 player earlier today. It was only $19.99 because it was on sale, and it's not a bad little toy to have. It has SD card support, so in addition to the 1GB of internal memory on the player itself, I can insert SD cards full of other music files and switch between the internal memory and the card's memory, giving me almost a limitless amount of storage to utilize for music purposes (depending on how many SD cards I purchase, of course). It doesn't have a menu/list function that my mobiBLU has, though, so it's a good bit different than what I've been using for the past 2 years or so. My cousin was actually going to just give me his copy of Pokemon FireRed, but I insisted on giving him at least $6 for it (since those were the only small bills in my wallet). So, I got a $25 game for $6, so that's not bad. He had 4 badges and he had just beat Silph Co. in order to get the Silph Scope, but he hadn't completed Pokemon Tower yet, so I'll just continue his game and get all the rare Pokemon that I can get in that game. That way, I'll have two different sets of legendaries on my copy of Pearl. Good times. I really want to buy My Pokemon Ranch, but I just haven't had the chance yet. I've been spending so much money, though, so I don't want to run out too soon by buying Wii Points. Maybe my parents will help me out on that... I've been diggin' AMP, lately. It's a good drink. I'm obviously drinking the sugar-free, low-calorie version. It actually does help wake me up, so it has my stamp of approval.
Tue, Jun. 10th, 2008, 01:09 pm "Pokeymanz".

I don't remember mentioning this in the previous entry, but I actually kinda cheated a bit and kept restarting my LeafGreen game just so I could get all three of the previous starters on my copy of Pearl. Well, it's not exactly "cheating", but they weren't really obtained in the correct way that you're supposed to use. But I gotta say, I still love these games. They are just so much fun. I want to try to create a legit team of good Pokemon, not necessarily to battle people, but just so I can have them and be proud of my work. Nothin' wrong with that. I have seen about 197 Pokemon on my copy of Pearl, actually. Pretty good amount, but nowhere near the 450+ that are actually able to be seen. But oh well, I'm still trying. I'm so looking forward to Pokemon Platinum coming out. Yes, I will definitely be purchasing it. Yes, I will probably take all of my creatures on Pearl and transfer them to Platinum. Yes, I'm a nerd. :P I should probably purchase the Pokemon Ranch WiiWare channel pretty soon. It just came out yesterday, but it's a whopping $10 to buy, and I'm really cheap. Doesn't seem to be a fair price for something that's essentially a Pokemon Box that just allows you to transfer Pokemon to it. I mean, if it allowed you to obtain rare Pokemon or help with the in-game contests somehow, then I could understand it, but just to see the Pokemon in 3-D? Hmm... well, I'll see what happens. I want to purchase Emerald, now. I think I'll use that Target gift card that my teachers gave me to pay for a part of it, then I may go halves on it with my parents. That way, all I'll have to pay is about $10-$15 for it, and that sounds like a bargain to me. I've been watching some more Pokemon anime, as well. The first movie in its original language is actually a bit different from the localized version, but I can kind of understand why they changed it a bit (since what they took out really wasn't a huge, important plot point). Still, I was pleasantly surprised to see footage that was new to me, even if it wasn't that important. I also watched the... fourth movie, was it? The one with Latios and Latias, whichever that was. And some of the Pokemon Chronicles (or Pokemon Hosou, I believe it's called). I'm thinking of also watching the "banned" episodes, minus the Porygon one because I don't know if I'll have a seizure or not. Better safe than sorry, obviously. And, of course, I'm looking to buy one of the new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, but only after I buy a new DS that has a working touch screen. Wow, an entire post devoted to Pokemon? Nice.
Sun, Jun. 8th, 2008, 01:20 am So, I graduated.

I feel like there should be more than this to a graduation though, you know? I've been busy the last few days because of graduation-related events. Had to go to my own on Thursday, went to my cousin's and friend's yesterday, and went to my Aunt's last night and today for a kinda get-together thing with my great-grandparents and other various family members. Pictures may be put up soon, provided that I feel like getting them off the camera and onto the computer. But, really, I still wasn't excited or anything by the whole process. I was mostly bored just listening to the speakers and juvenile teens near me. In other news, I've been playing a lot of Pokemon, lately. I beat the Elite Four on Pokemon Pearl, and purchased LeafGreen again so that I can transfer the R/B/Y-era Pokemon to Pearl. Soon, I will be attempting to capture Darkrai via my Japanese Diamond's exploitable door glitch, provided I can Master Ball-catch it even without the National Dex. And I bought NeoGeo Battle Coliseum for the PS2 for a mere $10 earlier tonight. Go me. I also finished watching Den-O recently, but can't remember if I mentioned it already. Reguardless, it was a great series.
Sat, May. 31st, 2008, 10:26 am "MomoUraKinRyuu - Climax Form!"

Climax Form is an awesome form change. And he even used the Rider Kick! First time this season, interestingly. It's like the writers completely forgot about it, then realized that they haven't yet used one of the staple attacks in the series. It's almost funny, if you think about it. Well, here's my progress in each of the tokusatsu series I'm watching so far: Episode #31 of Kamen Rider Den-O. Episode #19 of Kamen Rider Kiva. Episode #2 of Tokusou Sentai DekaRanger. Episode #1 of Mahou Sentai MagiRanger. Episode #24 of GouGou Sentai Boukenger. Episode #10 of Engine Sentai Go-Onger. Doing fairly well, but for some reason, it's been a bit difficult to watch Boukenger, lately. I gotta get this idea that the entire series is just filled with mini-arcs out of my mind and just enjoy the season. It's supposed to be one of the best that Toei's ever produced, from what I hear. I'm also thinking of watching Kamen Rider Kabuto once I free up some space to watch it. It sounds like a serious season, so I'm hoping it'll be good and interesting to watch. And no, the college financial aid letters still haven't arrived. And it makes me angry because I want to make a decision as soon as possible. Sigh... I've been doing pretty well on my Pokemon Pearl game, lately. I finished the 7th Gym Leader just the other day, and I figured out that I actually CAN trade Pokemon between my Japanese copy of Diamond and my American Pearl, so I'm totally going to be getting all the Pokemon that can only be found in Diamond and trading them to Pearl. I'll also probably restart Diamond and just trade over the starters that I do not yet have to Pearl just so I can have one of each. I'm not regretting that Diamond purchase anymore, at least. :3 I'm also going to be purchasing a copy of Pokemon LeafGreen once I go down to Lancaster again. I thought about picking it up last time, but I decided against it, much to my dismay because I've been having dreams about it since then. x_x I rented Super Mario Galaxy the other day. I've gotten twenty stars on it. Seems like a fun game. That's all I have to say about it.
Thu, May. 15th, 2008, 12:33 am "Isn't it cool? Isn't it great? Isn't it awesome?!"
CDs have been purchased, and will be sent out sometime this week. I chose the 4-12 day shipping because I didn't really want to wait 1-3 weeks. And yes, I did order the special CD+DVD bundles, since they ARE limited edition, after all. Because really, what could be better than limited edition?
I've been watching a lot of Tokusatsu shows, lately. I just started watching Den-O, tonight. It seems interesting. So, all the live-action superhero shows I'm watching are:
GouGou Sentai Boukenger Juken Sentai Gekiranger Engine Sentai Go-Onger Kamen Rider Den-O Kamen Rider Kiva
I also have the first episode of Kamen Rider Kuuga that was just subbed, as well as thenewly-subbed first episode of Gosei Sentai Dairanger, so I'll have to get around to watching them sometime soon.
Makes me want to buy the original seasons of Kamen Rider on DVD, seeing as how they are cheap with a good batch of episodes... no subtitles, but eh, I'm okay with RAWs.
That's actually a strange thing for me. See, I do enjoy actually understanding what I'm watching, but I really have no problems with watching shows in another language without subtitles, both anime and live-action. And yet, a lot of anime fans, even those far more hardcore than I, really don't like RAWs or watch them unless forced. Maybe it's just because I like guessing at what they are saying, then coming back to the subbed version and figuring out how close I got? That would certainly be consistent with my attitude...
I think I might be able to buy that new DS, tomorrow. I have some cash, I can trade in my old one, and I have games to trade in along with it, so I should be able to afford it. I'm really unsure as to what color I want, though. Probably black or the red-black cross, or maybe the blue-black cross if I don't have any other choice. I'm kind of leaning towards one of the cross-color ones, but I'll take a different one if need be.
Thu, Apr. 24th, 2008, 08:22 pm Yowch...

I just turned my head to the left and sneezed, but it caused me to jerk my head to that side even further and hurt my neck momentarily. Ouch. x_x Anyway, it's feeling better now. I found not only three of the Petra CDs that I wanted, but I also found two of the dc Talk CDs that I wanted. They were in the CD cases in my parent's room, amazingly. Unfortunately, the " Welcome to the Freak Show" CD is scratched up due to so much use in the past ten years, so it didn't rip properly. It didn't even rip " Time Is" or " It's the End of the World", and I can't find them to complete the album. The torrent's not working properly, seeing as it's stuck at 98.2%. Maybe I can find it for cheap on the internet someplace. Or maybe someone nearby has a CD cleaner I can use. None of the Petra CDs had " No Doubt", though. That kind of frustrated me. I KNOW we had the CD before, but I have no clue where it's at or whether we stil have it or not. " Alas My Love" sounds like it might be a good song, though. I'll have to listen to that later tonight. I read past the Saiyan arc last night, and now it's heading into the Namek arc. That'll be fun to read, since I don't remember that arc very well (aside from the endless amounts of Naruto-esque filler material). Should be good. I started playing Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology earlier today. It seems fun, but it's definitely something I'm going to have to get used to. Maybe I'll set that aside and try my hand at Pokemon Pearl again. That reminds me, I need to sell my white DS Lite and purchase a new DS that actually has a touch screen that works. It's so annoying not being able to play my favorite games because my touch screen is terribly messed up. One last thing: this is a video of somebody drawing a picture of what Kristin Kreuk ("Lana" from Smallville) will probably look like as Chun-Li in the newest Street Fighter movie (wearing the signature blue-and-gold qipao and odango hairstyle). It looks awesome seeing the whole time-lapse deal of somebody drawing the thing completely in some kind of paint program, and the final product doesn't look half-bad. She BETTER look like this in the movie! Check it out. :3
Sun, Apr. 13th, 2008, 11:50 pm Game purchase!
Tales of The World: Radiant Mythology was purchased, today. I have never played through a Tales game in my life, I just heard that they were fantastic. Hopefully I'll enjoy it, seeing as how you have to put in... 60+ hours just to finish it once through? Somewhere around that amount. This will help me decide if I really want to get into this series. I'll need something to do in the off-hours at college. And I just wanted to find what is considered a really good PSP RPG. Man, I've been buying games left and right for that system... I have, what, six games for it, now? Crisis Core, Harvest Moon, Patapon, MegaMan Powered Up, Maverick Hunter X, Jeanne d'Arc... yep, that's six. My poor DS has been neglected, but if the touch screen wasn't so terribly calibrated and messed up, I might actually put some time into some games, but alas, I need to buy a new one if I plan on playing regularly. I still need to finish Phoenix Wright 3... And... I can't think of anything else to say. Oh yeah, the first Eyeshine album came out just the other day. I bought that, as well. I have to support the awesomeness of Johnny Yong Bosch and his cohorts, obviously. Indie-music isn't really my thing (if it can be called that), but I've enjoyed the few songs I've heard of theirs. If I had iTunes, I'd buy their EP, but it doesn't seem to want to install on this computer (plus, I don't have an iPod to put it on). Oh well.
Sat, Dec. 15th, 2007, 09:13 pm Huh?
Harvest Moon DS... looks to be the stupidest Harvest Moon game available. I mean, the visuals are so kid-oriented, it's embarrassing. I definitely prefer Harvest Moon 64's visuals, which, while still looking kiddy, actually had some redeeming value to them, while the visuals for the DS game look like super-chibified versions of the characters, with ugly looking faces and huge chins. Like the 2002 version of Kanon. Ugh. I'm not putting any time in THAT game. The wait for Rune Factory 2 is going to be a long wait, indeed... x_x It seems like many of the Fall anime shows I'm watching are coming to an end, soon. Goshushou-sama Ninomiya-kun ends in one episode (giving it twelve episodes), Kodomo no Jikan does as well, ef -a tale of memories- also follows suit, and I believe Myself; Yourself ends in two episodes, bucking that trend (giving it thirteen episodes). I think I'm correct in the numberings, but I'm not entirely sure. It seems that, out of all the series I'm watching right now, only Clannad will keep going, since it will go to twenty-four or so episodes. I'm wondering as to whether I should watch Minami-ke as well, but I'm currently undecided. ...this leads me to a question: when is the second season of Haruhi Suzumiya going to air? It feels like I've been waiting forever... I had no idea that this Resident Evil movie existed, but it looks fantastic. Kinda like Advent Children, but better. Yay for Leon and Claire! :D Oh yeah, I'm no longer at "The Farm". I'm now... uh... on the Thousand Sunny. Yeah.
Fri, Dec. 14th, 2007, 11:02 pm Success!

Now that the previous answer thing is submitted... I finally completed Rune Factory, tonight! Well, at least, according to what I'd consider it "finished". I consider it finished when I defeat the final boss and get married to one of the village girls, and considering the fact that since there are no more story events after you get married, short of the five minute sequence where you have the baby, there's no reason to continue playing. I already accumulated over 500,000 gold, there's no reason to upgrade the weapons besides bragging rights, and there's nothing else to work for. I can finally say that I'm done and finished with this latest iteration of Harvest Moon. I would definitely recommend this game to anybody with a Nintendo DS. If you like Harvest Moon, but don't mind a little deviation from the tried-and-true series' formula, then you will enjoy it. If you even like playing RPGs, you'll enjoy this game. Just be prepared to spend several hours just sitting there, fighting monsters, growing crops, wooing girls, all the normal stuff you do in these games. I am now anxiously awaiting the sequel, which comes out in Japan in February. Since it comes out then in that country, I would assume that it would be a late spring or early summer release here, in the States. Then again, since summer usually brings a gaming drought, they might wait until early Fall to actually release it here with all the localizations, including English VA's and the like. Hopefully there will be better translations and a larger role for the VA's, since I really like hearing voice acting in my games. Make it happen, Natsume! And now, I think I'll move on to my sub-par translation of Dragon Quest IV... or maybe Luminous Arc, I haven't quite decided, yet. Awww man, and I still need to finish ASH... x_x ...I'm reading this entire entry completely differently in my head. Since I spent the better part of the day listening to Ravi Zacharias, in my mind I'm hearing everything I read in an East Indian accent... xD
Thu, Dec. 13th, 2007, 10:13 pm Ah, that's how it is.

My monthly meeting for schoolwork was today. Always nice to go to, even though I usually wait till the last minute to do my work. We (my brother and I) were surprised that we had to take some extra tests, but we were able to get them done. Although, I'm not sure I'm happy with the test results. I mean, I did really well on them, and I honestly don't understand why. This isn't false humility, because I seriously thought I didn't do well on them, and I'm kinda angry that I somehow stumbled upon the correct answers without putting much thought into them. I mean, really, I'm a seriously lazy student. I wait until the last few days before our work is due before I actually finish it, and I don't put that much thought into what I'm doing, and yet... I still get correct answers? You might think I'm weird, but I'd rather FAIL HARD and actually get the motivation to work on the schoolwork the proper way, than to just take the easy way out and do things haphazardly and somehow get the answers correct. Isn't that the difficult, yet morally and ethically correct, way to do things? And I can't change myself, since I'm already settled into my routine and can't diverge from my set habits... v_v And c'mon, the test results said that I was well above my grade in MATH! I mean, COME ON! MATH?! If there's one thing that I believe I'm so terribly BAD at, it's definitely math! ... Wow... Baroque actually looks pretty swell. Not that I'm much for the obviously questionable symbolism, but the art style is pretty nifty. Looks like a winner on the Wii. Oh yeah, speaking of the Wii, I did end up buying a Wii Points Card. 2000 points, to be exact. And yes, I did indeed purchase Pokemon Snap on the Virtual Console, and I just unlocked the Volcano level. It's about as fun and entertaining as I remember it, although I'll probably finish it fairly quickly. I apparently can't go to the book store, anymore. As soon as I walk into the appropriate section, I waste so much time just looking at the various titles, picking up books in my hands, examining them, memorizing the names of the authors and titles, etc... and then I find out that I don't have any money to buy them. I'm certain that as soon as I get any cash whatsoever for Christmas, I'll be buying books. I need to add more to my theology shelf... Oh yeah, and a new book arrived on my doorstep, today. It's thick as a phone book (768 pages, to be precise), and it has a ton of information on pretty much every major religion in the world. Neat. I've been watching more of -ef- a tale of memories, lately. And it's actually a pretty decent show. I can't wait to see where it takes us, as I'm only on episode 9 and it's going to finish off at 12 or 13 episodes in three or so weeks. I gotta say, though... if there is a single anime on earth that reminds me of Kingdom Hearts in both artistic style and musical choice, it's definitely this show. I mean, just watch the opening theme. I'm still getting close to finishing Rune Factory. I'm still on the second-to-last dungeon, but I'm getting stronger and stronger, and my crops are almost finished up with their growing, since the door to the second half of the dungeon requires you to grow five crops near the door to proceed. I just wish it was a bit easier to finish these dungeons up, but eh, what can you do? And... there's not much else to talk about. I'm sending away for college information tomorrow (and let me tell you, I'm going to sign up to get information from well over fifteen colleges, at the least), so I'll be happy with that. Definitely trying to go for Cal Baptist, since employers are actually predominantly looking for workers from Christian colleges these days, due to the fact that they believe they'll be getting workers with more honesty and integrity than graduates from secular universities. Plus, that's where Gabe went, and he's one of the smartest guys I've ever known, so why not? In addition to that, they have an arcade right there on campus, with a bunch of arcade cabinets with games that I'll probably be familiar with, so that's a definite benefit.
Wed, Dec. 12th, 2007, 10:30 pm Didn't post yesterday
But eh, what can you do? I had schoolwork to finish, a guild thread to write announcing my hiatus, and stuff to take care of. I should be more diligent, yes, but I'm really, really lazy. xD
I'm sure there might be some guild members who saw my post, and to them, I must ask: do any of you have an account on LiveJournal? I have no problem with adding anybody who asks of me to my friendslist, just so you know. I'm totally down for commenting on journal entries and having brief (or in-depth, if you prefer) discussion and conversations!
I'm getting close to finishing Rune Factory pretty soon, here. I'm in the second-to-last cave, I have pretty decent levels in order to fight the final boss, I think, and as soon as the last cave is finished, I'll be able to marry Mist, and only then will I consider the game finished (as I already have about 500,000 Gold and don't have very many things I can do after marriage, short of having the baby, and even then, that doesn't further the story at all).
I honestly can't wait until Christmas. Who wouldn't love that day? Hopefully we won't have any problems with anything, as we kinda have had in the last few years...
I'm thinking of trading in a few DS games in order to buy a Wii Points Card, so that I can purchase a few Virtual Console games. I was initially thinking of buying Pokemon Snap, but I don't really know... it'd be a short game, with not that much Wii support, and with hardly any Pokemon from the last ten years. On the other hand, it was still a fun game, but I'm not sure if it's worth the $10.00 I'd have to pay. Maybe I'll just go with something that's a given, like Super Mario Bros. 3.
John Piper is one of the best speakers I've heard in terms of sheer emotion within the last few years. :3
